Apart from my massive flu, I´m afraid I didn't bring too many new things from Paris this time. Premiere Vision was impregnated with a virus even worse than the flu one, yes "Crisis" everywhere. The favourite word this season for suppliers, clients, designers, trains (a transport strike was on during the whole week)... Anyway, "show must go on" and we must see the positive side of bad things, at least we hadn't to wait or postpone our appointments with fabrics suppliers. Actually, they were looking for you through the aisles on the fair.Although for next season pastel colours have been collected in PV colour palette, I missed them showed in fabrics collections (samplers). I saw quite a lot wool structures, checks (of course...), "hairy" finishings fabrics (kind of mohair look), structured silks for tops in light weights, cordoroy (I'm afraid is coming back, those who have been working in MNG for a while like me know quite well what it means to get corduroy indigestion for the rest of your "fashion life"). The best part of the collections: knit aspects. Cut and sewn knits were, in my opinion, the more inviting aspects in the collections. Also, doing shopping all around Paris areas, you realized about this quickly. Mostly, the new ideas I found, were applyed on knit garments represented in almost all the collections in all the labels.
Anyway, if I had to say what was new in this last PV it would be "Japanesse Fabrics". All the highligts in the forum were from that amazing country. They do know perfectly well what's the meaning of the words Creation, Innovation and Talent. It's easy to understand why they are allways one step ahead in fashion. It's a pitty their prices are as higher as their ideas! One day, may be...
